Murphy's Marlin Lures are the creations of Patrick Murphy out of Florida, who began making lures in 2017 and rose fast through the underground big-game trolling scene into true "if you know, you know" status. His lures aren't sold commercially — you won't find them in any shop — and that scarcity is entirely by design.

Murphy places his lures only with the best of the best big-game fishermen around the world. The path to owning one runs opposite to most tackle: you don't buy a Murphy, you get selected for one, and generally only if you actually chase big-game marlin at the highest level. Predictably, they're extraordinarily sought after — and they back up the mystique where it counts, catching big fish for the elite anglers who run them.

As a museum and archive, we're honored to document Patrick Murphy and Murphy's Marlin Lures — an underground legend whose allocation-only lures are among the most coveted in world big-game fishing, earned rather than bought.
