Mike Texeira
OAHU, HAWAII
Mike Texeira is a name spoken with reverence by a few of Oʻahu's OG fishermen — a maker whose lures are scarce and quietly legendary. The classic Texeira is a flat-faced 7-inch pusher head with a real lai (leatherback) fish head encased in the resin. Only a handful have ever been seen, and the old-timers who know them say his lures are the best of the best — find one, and you've got something truly special. He has since passed away.
As a museum and archive, we're honored to preserve the memory of Mike Texeira, a maker whose rare lai-head pushers are spoken of as some of the finest ever to come off Oʻahu.
