Franny

HONOLULU, HAWAII — ACTIVE YEARS LATE 1970s – PRESENT

"Franny" is Francis Shitabata, a Honolulu lure maker who has been crafting Hawaiian trolling lures since the late 1970s — a long-running name on the Oʻahu scene whose work spans decades.

Detailed public documentation is limited, but Franny remains part of the islands' lure-making community, and his lures carry the quiet pedigree of a maker who's been at it that long.

As a museum and archive, we're honored to document Francis "Franny" Shitabata and his decades of Hawaiian lure making.
