D.H. LURES

OAHU, HAWAII — ACTIVE 1990s – 2000s

D.H. Lures were made by Danford Hong, who built lures through the 1990s and 2000s while working at POP Fishing & Marine, the Honolulu tackle shop. His lures were a favorite among local fishermen — a real working-fisherman's reputation. Hong has since moved to the mainland and stopped making lures, which makes his Hawaiian-made pieces a closed, finite body of work.

As a museum and archive, we're glad to document Danford Hong and D.H. Lures, a local-favorite maker of the 1990s–2000s Oʻahu scene.

Identification tips:

Below, you’ll find our ever-growing digital archive showcasing every lure that has come through our shop. This collection is constantly evolving as new lures arrive, making it a living record of rare, limited-production lures. We will continue updating this database regularly, building what we aim to be the largest digital archive of offshore trolling lures in the world.
