Gerard de Silva created Capt. Frothy Lures out of Madeira, Portugal — one of the world’s most respected blue marlin fisheries. Built from years of experience fishing the legendary waters off Madeira, his lures were designed with a focus on consistent swimming action, durability, and raising big fish in real offshore conditions.

Capt. Frothy Lures became known for their clean resin work, bold yet effective color combinations, and proven performance on Atlantic blue marlin. Influenced by the rough water and aggressive bites found around Madeira, Gerard’s designs are built to track hard, smoke properly, and stay active across a wide range of trolling conditions.

Though produced in smaller numbers, Capt. Frothy lures have developed a strong following among serious marlin fishermen worldwide who value handmade, performance-driven designs.

We are proud to be the only shop in Hawaii distributing Capt. Frothy Lures, bringing these highly respected Madeira-made heads to Hawaiian waters for the first time.
